Networking
There are so many websites for networking these days. Artists should have profiles all over the Internet.
AudioGalaxy -
Bebo -
Craigslist - When all else fails, put an ad up.
Facebook - This is quickly becoming the most used social networking site. It is not tailored for bands but you can create a group and stay in touch with your friends.
Flickr -
Friendster - I think this is more popular in Asia than it is in the US but...
Musician Forest - Find musicians of like minds and abilities. One of the best sites of it's kind.
MySpace - One of the most popular social networking sites. Create a musicians profile, upload songs, create and manage your fanbase.
Reverb Nation - Social Networking specifically for bands, fans, artists, and venues. Create a profile here, upload songs, and create an online press kit.
Twitter - Another technological phenomenon (or fad) that allows you to update your fan base anywhere, anytime.
YouTube - Upload videos, subscribe to channels, and establish a prescence on the site quickly becoming the first place people go to for entertainment searches.
Business Cards/Printing
You want to establish your art as a business right? You need to be able to network yourself and make your contact information available to those that you meet.
www.VistaPrints.com is a cheap way to get cards delivered to your house. You can design them online with their templates which are limiting but again, cheap.
www.ThinkPro.net is one of the best in town for reasonably priced but professional printing.
Website
This is one of the most important tools for marketing yourself. www.GoDaddy.com can supply you with a domain name and host a website.
I prefer to use www.WebStarts.com because it is easy to use, the design and hosting are free!
Studios
Recording studios in the valley:
B Platinum Studios - Obviously my first pick, this is my project studio, I have recorded full bands, made tracks, done work with Hip-Hop artists, released demos and full albums for many artists over the years.
Flying Blanket - Bob Hoag puts out some great sounding stuff from his home studio.
Promiscuous Studios
- Located across from MCC, this studio has a built in Cafe, and is a great place for hip-hop artists to network, and try things out.
Telekon Studios
Located in Carefree, this studio experience is worth the drive. Daniel has a great dedication to his projects. He offers flat rates and puts in the extra time to get the final product sounding great.
Uranus Recording - Robin Wilson has a studio next to Four Peaks Brewery in Tempe. Rates are good but do not include an engineer.
Here are several resources that you can use to promote yourself and develop your business as an artist, venue, or event planner.

Venues
DoggAss Productions - Ted Organ has his mind set on bringing back the live show. DoggAss productions feature 4-5 bands with comedians in between. Local artists showcase their work giving the event a festival type atmosphere. Shows are usually preceded with a promotional event that includes acoustic performances, radio features, and interviews.
